Heyran Khanim or Heyran donboli was born in Nakhchivan into an aristocratic family.She was the daughter of Karim xhan Kangerlu, the ruler of Nakhchivan and from the Kurdish family of Donboli.Her birth and death dates are unknown.Probably the years (1790, 1848).She moved to Iran in the beginning of the 19th century.She is also known as a prominent Azerbaijani poet.
Heyran Khanim wrote lyrical poems of various forms, including ghazals, mukhammasses, ruba'is, and gasidas in Azerbaijani and Persian languages.
Ardent, kind and selfless love is the main theme of her poetry. In some of her poems, she blames life, protests against evil and social unfairness, violation of rights and oppressed situation of women.
Also, Heyran Khanum Castle is the name of a historical work that was built by his father in Urmia.
